WHY DO WOMEN STILL STAY WITH CHEATING HUSBANDS?
I've always believed that strength is a virtue. It's divine. It's not something that can be found down the road. It's either you are born with it or it comes to you from above. Women are embodiments of strength. For beings created with just a rib, it's so fascinating how incredible and powerful they can be. And I'm not just saying this...literally.
Marriage on the altar comes with an oath a husband and wife make to themselves. But alot happens in marriage that make these two parties forget the sacred oath they made before God and man. Most times, circumstances in marriage make a husband and wife who were deeply in love at first to forget these oaths and take up unfavourable characters that were not earlier displayed in the beginning of their relationship. And I think, to some extent, courtship has a role to play in this but that's a story for another day.
Cheating in marriage has become an order of the day. A couple gets married today and before you say "Jack...Meyers"...boom!!! One party is already cheating!!! Some even enter into marriage while cheating on their better half. It raises the question...why? Even though the subject of cheating is predominantly attributed to the male gender...in this case, the husband, the question still remains why do most cheat?
Some husbands cheat for different reasons best known to them. One of the reasons some cheat is because it's a habit. Habit is something you have been doing for a long time, have mastered the art of it and found it difficult to stop. In most cases, men who cheat in marriage were those who have lived life exploring so many sexual partners over the course of their lifetime. They jump from one sexual partner to another, and then another and then another.
When these category of men finally enter into marriage, it becomes a problem to stick to one woman for the rest of their life. These category of men would get bored and tired of their spouse easily because it's not what their body is used to. Before you know it, months into the marriage, they are already craving someone else. And this would prompt them to go outside to satisfy that sexual urge. Remember, it's not them now doing this, it's that habit cultivated overtime coming to play here.
This is just a reason why a husband would probably decide to cheat on his wife. This act then raises the question why women still stick with a cheating husband. A husband would cheat on his wife. Sometimes gets caught red handed in the act. The husband would beg for forgiveness. The wife would accept and still be in the marriage yet the next the day, the husband goes out and does same thing all over again. The circle never stops!
The funniest part is men would joke about it during their evening drink sessions in bars with friends and still continue in the act. I onced watched a TV interview session of a Lagos male celebrity who stated that all his friends who are 3-6months old in marriage do not enjoy staying home at night. They party with him in clubs till 2 am forgetting their marital status. It got to a point he had to start forcing them to go home to their wives. These men preferred to stay in the club till 6am having the time of their lives with random females leaving their newly wedded wives home and all alone throughout the night.
This attitude goes on for years and some women still stay with their cheating husbands. These women have friends who whisper to them of their husbands randy behaviours round town but they put up brave faces and play dumb anytime such discussions come up. Some men even do this with mutual friends of their wives yet these women still stay in marriage with these men. How do these women do it? Don't they feel hurt emotionally?
